The SMNH3 ammonia gas detection sensor is a constant potential electrolytic sensor. Ammonia and oxygen undergo corresponding oxidation-reduction reactions on the working electrode and counter electrode, respectively, releasing charges and forming an electric current. The magnitude of the generated current is directly proportional to the ammonia concentration. By measuring the magnitude of the current, the ammonia concentration can be determined.
