The SMCO carbon monoxide gas detection sensor is a constant potential electrolytic sensor. Carbon monoxide and oxygen undergo corresponding redox reactions on the working electrode and counter electrode, respectively, releasing charges and forming a current. The magnitude of the generated current is directly proportional to the carbon monoxide concentration. The concentration of carbon monoxide can be determined by measuring the magnitude of the current.
